Panorama Point is a fantastic hike to catch some nice views close to Denver. It is a short drive and usually overlooked due to it proximity to very popular Lair O' the Bear park. It is a fairly easy hike, and is certainly beautiful.
The parking lot for this is small, but there is limited parking on Highway 74 if it is full. Start on Bear Creek Trail then follow the signs for Panorama Point. The 650 ft of elevation gain is a good workout, but not super strenuous. This is a good beginner trail to get your hiking feet underneath you and used to a little climb at altitude. It is also a great trail to bring the whole family.
At the top you will be rewarded with gorgeous views of the town of Kittredge below, as well as a vast amount of peaks, including Mount Evans. The large rocks at the top provide a fantastic place to celebrate with a picnic, or relax and do a little meditation in nature.
Overall this is a perfect trail for someone looking for a quick hike with beautiful views close to Denver, and one that is rewarding but not super strenuous.
Since this is a slightly less busy trail, and the large rocks at the top provide some great views and a fantastic place to sit, this is a perfect trail to relax and take in the beauty of nature!
A wide trail and a fairly easy climb with a great reward make this a fantastic adventure for families. It will feel like an accomplishment when you make it to the top!
Looking for a break and a quick get-away? This is a great one. Short, easy trail with gorgeous views to get away from it all!
The parking lot is pretty small and looks a bit like a driveway. But it is right off of 74 and should be easy to find. Limited parking is allowed on 74 if the lot is full. As always, plan on getting there early!
