Lair O' the Bear is a magical place so close to Denver. A flat wide trail following Bear Creek, this is a perfect place to bring the whole family.
Walking along the creek, listening to the water, pulling off for a picnic, Lair O' the Bear is a great place to escape. With shade and open areas, you can find some mountain scenery for everyone here.
The main trail is a quick out and back that winds along with Bear Creek. Dogs love splashing in the cold water oof the creek, and it is nice to dip your own toes in as well!
Bruin Bluff Trail is a loop trail across Dipper bridge about half way through that provides some fantastic views of the area. Be aware, this trail has a bit more elevation gain and isn't included in the 1.6 mile length, but is a fantastic quick trek to make if you're wanting a bit more.

The landscape as well as wildflowers when in season offer some great opportunity for photography!
Lair O' the Bear is easy to find and so close to Denver. It has a fairly large lot, but does fill up quick, especially on weekends. As always, get there early!
