A steep climb through Chimney Gulch up to Windy Saddle Park is a fantastic hike right off 93 in Golden! You can even continue the hike from Windy Saddle, and climb Lookout Mountain to the resting place of Buffalo Bill Cody!
The trailhead is right off of 93 in Golden. Chimney Gulch is a steep climb up to Windy Saddle Park, but rewarding. This is a great spot to take in stunning Colorado sunsets. From Windy Saddle Park you can continue the climb all the way up to the top of Lookout Mountain.
Here you will find the final resting place of Buffalo Bill Cody and his wife, as well as a museum. Views from the top are spectacular. If you're looking for adventure you are able to drive to, you can drive to both Windy Saddle Park and the top of Lookout Mountain.
Overall this is a great adventure with some fantastic views of Golden, as well as some great history!

The parking lot for Chimney Gulch is right on the side of 93. You can drive up to Windy Saddle Park and do only the Lookout Mountain portion of this adventure as well if you wish. One could also take the Lightrail out to Golden then take a super quick Lyft or Uber to the trailhead if looking for a good adventure accessible via public transit.
