Right off of 285 and only about a 25 minute drive from Denver, Meyer Ranch Park is a perfect quick escape! If you are looking for a nice, easier hike through some dense forest with lovely fresh pine scents and mountain air, this is a great choice.
There are a lot of options for hiking at Meyer Ranch Park. HERE is a map of the park. If you want an easy trek through the forest, take the Owl's Perch trail in, then do the Lodge Pole Loop. That loop would put you a little under 2 miles for the whole hike without too much elevation gain. This would be a great hike to bring kids, especially with picnic areas close to the trailhead and a restroom at the trailhead.
If you want a bit more of a challenge, take the Sunny Aspen Trail up to the Old Ski Run Trail and do the loop up there. There aren't amazing views everywhere you look, however, there are some nice sitting rocks at the top and if you climb up them a bit you will be treated to some pretty fantastic views.
There are quite a few nice benches along the trail and a nice covered picnic table up where the Sunny Aspen Trail meets the Old Ski Run Trail. Overall if you are looking for a fun hike in the forest to get some fresh mountain air, this is a perfect option!
There are a couple nice picnic areas close to the trailhead, as well as a restroom. Definitely a nice spot to enjoy a meal!
Fairly flat and easy, this is a great trail to bring the kids.
If you want to make a longer day out of it, you could go north about 10 Miles to the wonderful town of Evergreen and grab a drink and a bite to eat!
The park is right off of 285 before Conifer. Easy to find and a decent size parking lot with additional parking down the road.
